hyper real x ctm festival

Geisha Online

umru hybrid

Gabber Modus Operandi live

Initiated by CTM Festival co-curator Michail Stangl aka Opium Hum, Hyper Real is a club night rooted in the exploratory, experimental and transgressive side of dance music. With residencies at clubs such as Prague’s Fuchs2 and Leipzig’s IfZ it serves as a multi-genre platform to rethink and to challenge club music conventions, while at the same time showcasing the emergent, the futuristic and the adventurous. This event is happening in collaboration with CTM Festival, ahead of its 25th anniversary edition In early 2024.

This second edition at RSO welcomes Balinese hard dance punks Gabber Modus Operandi, who will bring their high-speed Balinese take on extreme club music live on stage, coming fresh off the back of the groups member Kasimyn co-producing @bjork's last album.

They are joined by "search-engine-optimized music producer” umru, who as part of PC Music defined the sonic palette of hyper pop like few others, as heard on his productions for artists such as Eartheater, Brooke Candy, German rapper Hayiti, Charli XCX or Tommy Cash.

Debuting in Germany will be Colombian producer and DJ 2AT, one of the minds behind Bogota-based collective Muakk which he co-founded with producers CRRDR and Aleroj. Known for a refreshing and hard take on Guaracha, a dance music genre that originated in the clubs of Medellín in the early 2010’s, his collective has been instrumental to kickstart a new, global understanding of what Latin Core can be.

Finally, Geisha Online will be representing WIDOWS, a label and collective that she co-founded with DJ Hot Bitch, focussing on the work and perspectives of queer and migrant electronic artists and DJs and known for sweaty raves somewhere between Neoperreo, Gabber and Breakcore.
